Frank

Francis Joseph O'Meara.  My friend.  Figuratively, my brother.

Frank was born on April 2, 1969.  I always joked with him about his birth date being a day after April Fool's Day, and that he was the "fallout" from it, left over foolishness, as it were.  He would laugh every time I made that crack.  There…

Jessica Jones

After watching Daredevil earlier in the year, I was very excited about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Netflix.  I knew that Luke Cage was on the horizon and eventually there would be an Iron Fist (maybe) and the Defenders sounded awesome.

And then there was Jessica Jones.

I did not know much about Jessica Jones except for the fact that the character had a relationship (and a baby) with Luke Cage in the comics.

Well, after binge…

Shooting in Louisiana Theater

I heard about this yesterday after spending several hours in a movie theater in Dubuque, Iowa.  There are no words that can express the profound sadness that follows this story, and my condolences go out to the families of all of the injured victims in this tragedy.

Today, I was back at a movie theater in Davenport, Iowa watching Mr. Holmes.  It was fantastic.

After seeing the film, my mother asked me if I ever worried about…

Something Rotten at Rotten Tomatoes

Last night, I was able to see Marvel Studio's newest film, Ant-Man, and I thought it was a fantastic film, filled with humor, action, adventure, surprise cameos and special special effects.  But as I sat waiting for the film to begin, I was considering the score it had on Rotten Tomatoes.  77% is a very strong…

40th Anniversary of JAWS

Today, I spent a couple of hours in my local theater watching a classic in horror, Steven Spielberg's Jaws.   What a great time it was.

This month is the 40th anniversary of the release of the movie and to celebrate, Fathom is playing Jaws in certain special showings (much like they have done for several other classic movies over the years.)  The interest in the movie was still very high as my theater was packed (perhaps it had something to do with Father's…
