Pet Peeves From the Movie Theater

As a regular movie goer, there are many things that I find trip my trigger while I am trying to enjoy my cinema experience.  I come across this a lot, especially since it has been rarer this year for me to see only one movie on the weekend than not.  Every time I go to a theater, and it does not matter which one it…

CM Punk and the World of Pro Wrestling

In January 2014, the night after the Royal Rumble Pay Per View, the wrestling world was turned upside down by one of its top stars.  CM Punk.  He approached WWE head Vince McMahaon and, in that meeting, wound up leaving the company, never to be seen in a WWE ring again.

Speculation was rampant about the reasons behind Punk's departure, and the dirt sheets had a field day.  Some claimed that Punk left because he was unhappy with the direction of his character, some…

Billy Elliot: The Musical

Today, I went to the most recent Fathom Event at my local movie theater.  This special event was a performance of the Tony-winning play called Billy Elliot:  The Musical Live.  What a tremendous show!  It was an amazing afternoon.

Young actor Elliot Hanna plays the title role in the musical, though he has not been the only Billy Elliot over the years.  In fact, the conclusion of the show included all of the Billy Elliots from over the years involved in a…

Goldmine!

I truly enjoyed Big Hero 6.

It was a fun, entertaining, beautifully animated origin story of a super hero team featuring some original characters.  These characters were based loosely on a group of characters from Marvel Comics.  In the comics, mutant and Uncanny Avenger member Sunfire and villain Silver Samurai were involved.

There is actually very little that would connect the two versions together.  In the comic,Baymax can transform into a…

This summer, the latest Internet sensation is watching celebrities have a bucket of ice water dumped over their heads, celebrities who then challenge others to do the same.  The thing is... this is more than just a fight of summer fancy.  It is actually doing something worthwhile.  What it really is doing is…
